CABO PULMO

Things to do, where to stay and much more

A MARINE MIRACLE COME TRUE

Just three decades ago, these waters were on the verge of collapse. Overfishing had drastically reduced marine life. It was then that the local community, together with scientists and authorities, decided to protect this unique ecosystem.

Today, Cabo Pulmo is one of the greatest success stories of marine regeneration in the world, with a 400% increase in biomass since its protection. It is home to sharks, turtles, giant manta rays, whales and vast schools of fish that have repopulated the oldest reef in the American Pacific.

Hire authorized and certified guides.

Pay your access fee to national parks to keep them open.
3.
Avoid sunscreen, its chemicals kill polyps, so wear a T-shirt instead.
4.
Observe and conserve, avoid touching and feeding marine life.
5.
When swimming, remember that there are creatures beneath you. Practice and control your buoyancy.
6.
Respect the number of divers allowed. Use only authorized sites for the activity.
